Stacy Estes Yates
Stacy Estes Yates is an experienced trial attorney and Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator. She was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. She attended the University of Tampa where she was a member and team captain of the University’s Women’s Soccer Team. After graduating Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science degree, she went back to her home state of Texas and received her Juris Doctorate Degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.
While attending law school, she was a member of national mock trial teams and served as a Certified Legal Intern at the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. Upon graduation from law school, she was appointed an Assistant State Attorney in Hillsborough County, prosecuting thousands of cases from DUI to career criminal cases.
After serving as a prosecutor, Stacy worked for over a decade defending Fortune 500 insurance companies, their insureds, property owners, and state entities in a variety of civil cases, including: auto accidents, tractor-trailer accidents, motorcycle accidents, negligent security, sexual assault, slip and fall and premises accidents, and wrongful death. She was named managing shareholder of the Tampa office of a state-wide defense firm. Because of her experience as a defense trial attorney, she has a thorough understanding of how those companies defend and evaluate injury cases.
Stacy also represented injured parties as a Plaintiff trial attorney at one of the largest Plaintiffs firms in the country. While there, she employed her insider knowledge of the insurance industry to help those who suffered serious personal injuries because of someone else’s negligence.
She’s successfully tried numerous civil jury trials over the course of her career, is considered a fierce advocate for her clients and is respected by her peers and Judges.
Stacy has the UNIQUE experience of trying cases in front of juries for both the Plaintiff and Defense and now uses her knowledge to help parties on both sides resolve conflict.
Stacy is a community advocate, activist and frequent public speaker. She is a proud member of the Athena Society, serves on the boards of many local and statewide non-profits including Ruth’s List Florida, was appointed to the Hillsborough County Charter Review Board 2020-2021, volunteers as a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Krewe of Grace O’Malley, a member of the Krewe of Tronando, a member of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers, holds an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale Hubbell, consults for many political campaigns, and is an active member for Florida Voter Protection, including participation in the 2018 Florida election recount and the Presidential election of 2020.
Stacy lives in Tampa with her husband, Jason, and their two children. She enjoys time with her family, strong coffee, feisty political discussion, exercise, travel, and good books.
